Correspondence, a diary, articles and other writings, biographical material and memorabilia, and photographs. Includes letters to family members and friends describing her senior year at Mount Holyoke College, 1921-1922, and her experiences as a psychiatric social worker for the American Red Cross Military and Naval Welfare Service in the Middle East (based in Cairo), 1942-1945. Also includes Christmas letters by Brugger and her sister, Helen Brugger Beal, describing their world travels from 1973-1977.

Helen Frances Brugger was born on April 15, 1890 in Columbus, Nebraska. She attended Oberlin College from 1908-1909. She graduated from Mount Holyoke in 1912 with a double major in English Literature and Botany. After graduating, she taught botany, zoology, hygiene, and violin at Brownell Hall in Omaha, Nebraska.
